Rocky High School Debate Team Achieves Success

The Rocky High School debate and speech team recently achieved significant success at a tournament. The team secured first place in the speech category, third place in debate, an award for squad efficiency, and finished second overall.
Individual accolades included Livvy Lanzara winning third place and Hafsah Mohammed taking first place in impromptu speaking. In the extemporaneous speaking category, Luci Dean claimed first place, while Jamie Tuccinardi and Mac Holmes were finalists. Luci Dean also won first place in sales. Stella McClenna was a finalist in informative speaking, and Sam Clark secured third place in Program Oral Interpretation. Jocey Bjorkman won first place in Retold Story, and Emma Atkinson took first place in radio speaking.
In the debate section, Taylor Sandy and Celeste Decrescenzo earned bronze in novice public forum debate. In varsity public forum, Mac Holmes and Luci Dean won bronze, while Sam Clark and Rosie Hines took silver. Jamie Tuccinardi received bronze in varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate. In Congress, Emma Atkinson and Jocey Bjorkman won bronze, and Myah Oswald placed second.
The team expressed pride in all competitors and extended gratitude to the judges and parents who provided meals. The team plans to compete again next week at Ridgevue.
