Meridian Police Launches Student Standout Program

Staff Report / MeridianLocal.org

The Meridian Police Department has launched the Student Standout Program to recognize students for their positive contributions to the school community. The program began at the end of the 2023 school year, initiated by School Resource Officers (SROs) who observed students exhibiting kindness, positivity, and good role modeling.

In collaboration with the Crime Prevention Unit, the SROs developed the Student Standout Program to honor these exemplary students. Each month, a student is selected from one school to receive recognition from the SRO Team. To date, students have been recognized from all middle and high schools, as well as several elementary schools in the area. Thank you to CBS 2 Boise for highlighting this program, which celebrates the good deeds of local students.
