The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is hosting an educational presentation on health and lifestyle medicine on Wednesday, May 7 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA in Meridian, Idaho, located at 5155 S. Hillsdale Ave. The event will take place in St. Luke’s Classroom 1.

Dr. Jennifer T. Shalz, an internal medicine physician and system medical director of the St. Luke’s Lifestyle Medicine department, will lead the session. Dr. Shalz, who graduated from Tufts University Medical School in 1994 and completed her residency at Travis Air Force Base in 1997, will discuss how lifestyle changes can reduce inflammation and lower the risk of chronic diseases. She was among the first physicians to be board certified in Lifestyle Medicine in 2017.

The presentation aims to educate the community about health topics and available resources in Treasure Valley.
