Boise and Meridian Fire Department crews responded at approximately 10:30 a.m. today to a call about a structure fire on the 9500 block of W Stonewood Dr. Firefighters found a single-story home fully engulfed in flames. All occupants had evacuated before the fire department arrived.

Due to heavy fire conditions and the risk of structural collapse, crews made a full assignment and switched to a defensive approach, using aerial master streams to reduce the fire from the outside. Firefighters also rescued one dog from the burning home and reunited the animal with its owner.

The home is now considered a total loss. There were no injuries reported among the residents or firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Crews will remain on the scene for several more hours to conduct an overhaul and ensure the fire does not reignite.
