West Ada School District Prioritizes School Safety
Staff Report / MeridianLocal.org
The West Ada School District in Meridian, Idaho, has emphasized the importance of safety within schools. Students who threaten school security, even if the threats are intended as hoaxes, may face serious consequences including suspension and expulsion. The district urges collaboration to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment.
In addition, a new School Resource Officer (SRO) has been assigned to elementary schools in Eagle and Star, made possible by a recent grant. This addition aims to enhance the safety of the learning environment for students.
Furthermore, the district reminds the community that schools will be closed on November 5 for Election Day. This closure allows staff members to engage in a full day of professional learning, meaning no classes will be held for students that day.
For more information, a recent news story covering these updates is available from Idaho News 6.
