The City of Meridian, Idaho is inviting residents to participate in the annual “Recycle the Fall” leaf collection event. This free event offers two options for disposing of leaves: designated drop-off locations and curbside collection.

Key dates for the event are as follows:

- Ada County Landfill will accept leaves from October 7 through December 14.

- Meridian's drop site locations will be open from October 22 to December 12.

- Curbside collection will take place from October 28 to November 22.

Residents are reminded to follow these basic guidelines for leaf disposal:

- Only leaves will be accepted; branches, pumpkins, and garden plants are not allowed.

- Leaves must be placed in paper leaf bags, which should not be taped or stapled. Residents can also use yard debris carts and drop site bins for loose leaves.

- Plastic bags and cardboard boxes are not permitted.
