A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed yesterday between Idaho State University (ISU) and Lewis-Clark State College to address healthcare needs in Idaho. This partnership aims to tackle the shortage of paramedics in rural areas and create pathways for students to enter other health professions programs.

The demand for paramedics in Idaho is projected to increase by 11 percent by 2030. With this new agreement, students in the northern part of the state will have access to comprehensive paramedic education starting in fall of 2025.

ISU President Robert W. Wagner stated that the university is committed to meeting critical healthcare needs through strategic partnerships. The collaboration with Lewis-Clark State College is part of this effort to enhance the workforce in Idaho's healthcare sector.
